PokerStars arrived in New Jersey to much fanfare (with a $25,000 freeoll in tow) just under a year ago.
Finally returning to the United States after 5 years, poker players in the state were thrilled to see the familiar red spade again and returned to the site in good volume.
Within days it was the #1 poker site in New Jersey and it remains that way today coming up on its one-year anniversary in March.
Before they roll out the special promos to celebrate that, though, there's another big tournament series to indulge in - the $275,000 PokerStars NJ Winter Series.
8 Days, 10 Tourneys
After the $1.2m NJCOOP last fall the $275k Winter Series may be small by comparison but there's lots of value packed into the schedule.
Ten events will be spread across eight days starting on January 22 with a $75 buy-in NL Hold'em Six-Max event. A $15,000 prize pool is guaranteed.
That same day sees the start of a Special Edition $200 Sunday Special as well. $65,000 is guaranteed in that one with a $200 buy-in.
A new tournament will begin each subsequent day with buy-ins from $50 and $100 up to $1,000. Guarantees run between $10k and $30k.
The $75K GTD Main Event starts on January 29 at 6 pm ET with a $400 buy-in and $75,000 guaranteed for the prize pool.
